What changes this estimate

The estimate depends on what needs checking, what we can change and how the changes will be verified. An audit of representative page templates is a different scope from fixing the findings across a website or portal. Choose the work you need now, then include the forms, media, documents and third-party features that visitors rely on.

Tell us whether you already have accessibility findings or need a review to identify them. Existing findings help describe the work, but implementation and follow-up checks still need to be included in the estimate.

Describe a representative delivery

Start with a task a visitor needs to complete. For example, a hypothetical enquiry journey might run from the contact page through completing the form, correcting an error and receiving confirmation. List the templates and interactions involved, any existing findings, and who will review the result with us. This gives the estimate more useful detail than a page count alone.

Bring examples of relevant keyboard patterns, media and PDF documents, and identify any features controlled by another supplier. Use the first-delivery option to describe a practical starting point, such as that enquiry journey. If you need a wider programme, list the other journeys and their dependencies separately. Quantities describe activities or units of work; selecting them does not approve their hours or create a fixed-price package.

Separate automated findings from manual accessibility review

Automated checks can identify some issues, while keyboard journeys, assistive-technology behaviour and content meaning need manual review. Include both kinds of review where needed, along with the target accessibility criteria. We need to connect each finding to the task it affects so that the proposed fix and its verification are clear.

A shared component may appear on many pages. Fixing it can address issues across those pages, but the interactions that use it still need appropriate regression review. In the enquiry example, changing a shared form component would also call for checking the relevant form journey again. Agree the test methods, reviewers and evidence needed to accept the work as part of the scope.

Treat PDF remediation separately from website changes. Also flag externally controlled widgets: the available changes may depend on their supplier. This estimate does not guarantee legal compliance or independent certification.

Hours, costs and assumptions

Confirmed labour is calculated at R850 per hour excluding VAT. Each selected quantity is multiplied by an approved hours-per-unit value. That makes both the quantity and the approved unit hours important: listing more forms or templates changes the scope, while the time needed for each remains subject to approval. Base, discovery and complexity allowances need their own approval. Unapproved items remain Custom quote required and prevent a fixed total; they are never silently priced as zero.

The initial ten-hour website allocation is specific to the existing website calculator. It is not automatically applied to this service. Where managed dedicated hosting is selected, the separately stated management allocation applies to the agreed management scope.

Once-off work and monthly commitments are shown independently. Content writing, SEO, subscriptions, platform usage, travel and other external charges are included only when explicitly approved and itemised. International display currency does not change the authoritative ZAR calculation or establish a tax exemption.

Scope boundaries

  • Do not guarantee compliance without independent validation.
  • Third-party platforms may limit remediation.
  • PDF accessibility has separate scope.

Use the plan to request an estimate

A few useful answers before you decide.

The tool prepares an accessibility issue and test checklist. Before requesting a quotation, check that it covers the visitor tasks, proposed fixes and follow-up reviews you want priced. Include supplier dependencies and leave unresolved amounts visible so we can discuss them with you. Your contact details stay separate from saved session selections. Payment milestones and quote validity require written confirmation.

Explore the related service or compare the original website calculator. The PDF request becomes available only when the secure quotation backend is configured; the page clearly indicates its current state.

Why does this tool show custom quote required?
The R850 hourly rate is confirmed, but a selected activity may still need approved unit hours or supplier charges. For example, listing the forms to remediate describes the quantity without confirming how long each will take. The tool keeps those items visible as pending; a reviewed proposal establishes the amounts before a fixed price can be given.
Is the result a binding quotation?
No. The selected scope and any known charges are indicative until reviewed and confirmed in writing. An issued PDF uses server-side calculation and identifies pending items, exclusions, tax treatment and custom payment terms. Review those details alongside the accessibility issue and test checklist when considering the proposal.
