Bespoke Development
Plan business software around the work people need to do: choose an application, eCommerce change, PHP update or integration, with a clear first release.
Let’s talkMake the discipline serve the goal
You may need staff to stop re-entering orders, customers to manage their own records, or an existing system to handle a new business rule. We help turn that need into a development brief: what someone should be able to do, which information they need and what must keep working while the change is made.
Our development work can cover applications, eCommerce, existing PHP systems and integrations. Sometimes you need a new interface; sometimes the useful change sits between tools you already have.
A practical delivery approach
Start with one representative task. For an order workflow, that might mean the customer submits an order, staff check it and the details reach the next system. Include awkward cases too: a missing reference, duplicate submission or order that needs correction. These examples help us agree what to build.
We break the work into stages you can try and review. Each stage needs clear deliverables, access to the relevant systems and someone on your side who can confirm the business rules. We also agree how a change will be released and what happens if it needs to be reversed. Design, content or other work needed alongside development belongs in the scope from the start.
Choose the right starting point
The services below describe focused ways to engage. You do not need to diagnose the whole system before contacting us. If your challenge crosses these boundaries, a digital strategy discussion can help establish priorities before a larger investment. You can also see our delivery process for how reviews and handover work.
What to bring to a first conversation
Bring your current website or system, the outcome you want and any timing or budget constraints. A sample form, an anonymised spreadsheet or a walkthrough of the current task is often more useful than a long feature list. Tell us who uses it, who checks the result and where the work gets stuck.
For an existing application, share any available technical documentation and explain who controls the hosting, source code and connected accounts. This helps us identify what needs inspecting and which permissions will be needed.
Define what the technology must make possible
An online order, a staff approval and a transfer between systems need different forms of development. Begin with the record or action moving through the business. Who can create or change it? Which system holds the current version? What should someone see when the next step fails?
For example, an enquiry might need to become a job in an existing management tool. Which details are required? How do staff spot a duplicate or find a transfer that did not complete? The answers shape both the connection and any screen staff need to manage it.
A first phase might cover that single workflow while keeping the rest of the operation running as it does now. Platform choices should account for your existing environment, the required behaviour and who will maintain the result. Agree what is left for later.
Compare a new workflow with a change to an existing system
- Consider application development when people need an interface to carry out an ongoing task, with the right records and permissions.
- Consider integration assessment when existing tools already do their jobs but information has to be copied between them. We need to inspect the available connection options before proposing the work.
- Consider a change to the existing system when the workflow is broadly right and the gap is a specific rule, screen or step.
- Start with technical discovery when the rules, access or feasible implementation are still unclear. The immediate task is to answer those questions well enough to plan the build.
Development selection questions
A few useful answers before you decide.
When should we choose an application rather than a website?
How do custom software and integration work differ?
Can an existing PHP or Laravel system remain in place?
What business input is required during development?
What should the handover establish?
Prepare your next conversation
Share a sample transaction, the tools involved and what must keep working. Tell us which part you most need to improve. We can use that to discuss an assessment or a first release without assuming a full replacement.
