Business challenges, connected expertise

Solutions for the business problem in front of you

Choose a solution by the business change you need, then identify the services required to deliver it. A new website, connected sales handover and internal workflow improvement need different acceptance decisions even when each involves design and development.

Let’s talk

Start with what needs to change

You may need a better website, more useful enquiries, an easier ordering process or extra capacity for a growing development backlog. Start with the part that is getting in the way. A confusing product page and an enquiry that nobody follows up can both cost you opportunities, but they need different work.

We connect Webvelopment Engineering and Webvelopment Growth around that business task. Together, we can work out which design, development, content, campaigns and integrations belong in the scope—and which can wait.

Choose a useful starting point

A business website programme is a useful starting point when visitors struggle to understand your offer or take the next step. eCommerce growth looks at the storefront, operations and acquisition together. If the concern is turning interest into qualified conversations, explore customer acquisition, including what happens after an enquiry arrives.

For changes to everyday operations, explore digital transformation. Begin with technical discovery when you need to understand an existing system or answer a technical question before choosing what to build. If the current website needs replacing, website modernisation includes the content and migration questions that a visual redesign alone can miss.

Agencies and internal teams can explore outsourced development for delivery capacity and agency partnerships for a working relationship across projects. Manufacturers building a partner network can start with a dedicated distributor enquiry pathway so prospective partners have a relevant route to make contact.

Scope the joined-up work

Combining disciplines should make the work easier to understand. A proposal needs to say what we will produce, what your team will supply and how you will check that the work is ready to use. Existing-system access, content and decisions can affect what is possible and when.

Media budgets, specialist third-party services and ongoing operational support need to be explicit; a solution programme does not include every related activity by default.

Describe the problem you are trying to solve. Bring the page, task or enquiry that best illustrates it, plus any deadline or budget constraint. You do not need to choose every service before starting that conversation.

Compare the intended change, not the package name

Compare routes by what they would help someone do. For example, if customers repeatedly ask which product suits them, clearer product information may be the first useful change. If customers can already choose but staff must re-enter each order elsewhere, the more pressing question may be how those systems exchange information.

Both situations could sit under a broad growth or transformation brief. Naming the task helps us choose the first piece of work and explain what it depends on. Use the pathways on this page to find the closest fit; where several overlap, start with the obstacle you most need to remove.

Separate the problem owner from the implementation choice

The person who experiences a problem may not be the person who can change the process. Include both perspectives before settling on a tool. For an enquiry problem, that might mean hearing from the person who receives the messages as well as the person responsible for the website.

Ask what happens today, where the task stalls and what a useful first improvement would look like. If nobody yet knows whether the issue sits in the website, an integration or the working process, make that the discovery question before committing to a larger programme.

Solution selection questions

A few useful answers before you decide.

What separates a solution programme from a service?
A service describes a particular capability, such as development or content. A solution brings the necessary capabilities together around a business task. For example, improving an enquiry route might involve clearer copy, a form and a way for the right person to receive the details. The proposal should still identify the individual outputs and who checks each one.
Can a programme start with discovery only?
Yes. Discovery can answer a question that prevents you from choosing the next step confidently, such as whether an existing system can support the workflow you need. Agree the question, the evidence needed and where that piece of work ends. The answer may point to a small improvement or a different tool rather than a large build.
How are client inputs included in the plan?
We identify the material, access and decisions your team needs to provide alongside the production work. Depending on the task, that could include approved product details, access to an existing platform or time with the staff who use a process. Include the person who will receive enquiries or handle exceptions: their everyday needs can change what the website or system must do.
What if we only know the available budget?
Bring that figure and the task you most want to improve. We can discuss what a complete first phase could cover, what it would leave out and whether anything needs investigating first. A smaller scope should still produce something useful on its own. The available budget does not establish a guaranteed sales result or turn every requirement into an included deliverable.
Does combining services guarantee a business result?
No. We agree the work, responsibilities and how it will be assessed. Results also depend on your offer, your team’s ability to act on enquiries or orders, and factors outside implementation. Choose measures the available information can support: an enquiry is an early signal, while confirmed revenue requires evidence of a sale.
What should happen when the first phase ends?
Check the agreed outputs, resolve or identify outstanding items and make sure your team knows who handles the ongoing tasks. Then review what you have learned before deciding on more work. Maintenance, content or further development may be useful; there may also be no immediate need for another phase. A future idea on a roadmap is not automatically part of the current scope.

Enterprise systems and operating workflows

If the problem sits behind the website, choose a route that matches the records and tasks involved. Explore enterprise data orchestration for complex operational records and multi-tenant business platforms for a platform serving separate business tenants. Assessment and mystery shopping systems connect questionnaires, location hierarchies and reporting. Automated customer communications covers event-driven invitations, reminders and delivery controls.

E-commerce and accounting integrations focus on mapping, reconciliation and recovering from exceptions. For the technical foundations of an existing site, website infrastructure modernisation connects diagnosis, remediation and operating responsibility. The broader website modernisation programme also covers customer journeys, content and migration.
