South African industry delivery

A financial-services website brief needs clear content boundaries, approved claims and an appropriate route for sensitive conversations. Webvelopment’s delivery scope should be agreed with your responsible business and compliance reviewers; a website project does not establish regulatory approval.

## Separate the first enquiry from the controlled process

Someone comparing your services needs a different route from a client who needs help with an account. Before we design a page or form, we work out what each visitor is trying to do, what they need to read and where their request should go.

We can help shape and implement those routes. Your authorised product, legal and compliance reviewers decide which claims, disclosures and processes may be published. Keeping those decisions clear helps us write useful page labels and instructions without asking a public website to handle more than it should. Website design or a consent checkbox does not establish regulatory approval.

## Give review responsibilities a place in the brief

Bring the product information you already use, the wording approved for publication and the names of the people who can approve changes. If a rate or eligibility statement is still awaiting review, we need to know before it becomes part of a page design. Readers should be able to understand the offer while finding the disclosures that accompany it.

The site can give prospective clients, existing clients and general business contacts their own routes. A link labelled “Account assistance” should explain where it leads; a general contact form should make its purpose equally clear. That gives visitors a reason to choose the right channel before they type account information into a marketing enquiry.

## Collect the minimum needed for the next step

For an initial conversation, a name, preferred contact channel and short description of the request may be enough. We would agree the fields with your responsible reviewers and explain what to leave out beside the form. Identity documents, credentials and sensitive financial records belong outside this general enquiry route. Authenticated onboarding or document handling needs its own technical and data-handling scope.

Depending on the task, the project could include:

- Navigation that separates service research, new enquiries and client support.

- Accessible pages and labelled form fields with clear instructions.

- A content review workflow showing which wording needs approval before publication.

- Enquiry routing to a named receiving team, with the destination clear to visitors.

- An internal process or authorised system integration with agreed fields and access.

The choice matters: a public information site and a client document workflow involve different work. We can help you identify which you need before combining them in one brief.

## Make ownership sustainable

[South African UX design](https://webvelopment.co.za/za/services/websites/ux-design/) can clarify what people need to read and do. [Custom business software](https://webvelopment.co.za/za/services/development/custom-software-development/) can address an operating process that needs more than public pages. For either, agree who will check the finished work and what they will check: page wording, form fields, enquiry delivery or access to a particular task.

Day-to-day ownership needs the same attention. Who updates product information, who reviews the change, and who fixes a broken contact route? We can include editing guidance and those responsibilities in the handover so the content owner has something practical to work from.

[Discuss a financial services digital brief](https://webvelopment.co.za/za/contact/) with the task you want to improve, your approval team and the point where public information gives way to controlled client handling. Existing pages and approved product documents are useful starting material.

## Walk two distinct requests through review

For example, imagine a prospective client asking which service to discuss and an existing client asking for help with an account. The first visitor could read a service overview and send a short enquiry without supplying financial records. The second should see a clear route to the business’s approved account-assistance process, with instructions about where to continue.

Walk both routes through with the people responsible for receiving and reviewing them. Can each visitor choose the right route? Does the wording explain what to send and what to leave out? Does the receiving team have enough information for the next step? This is a planning example, not financial advice or a finding that the business is ready for a regulated activity. Specialist decisions remain with the authorised business and advisers.

## Separate a general enquiry from a regulated transaction

For each proposed action, establish whether it belongs on a public page or within an approved secure process. A page explaining a service, an enquiry about that service and a client transaction should each have a clear purpose. Name the reviewer for product wording and disclosures before publishing them.

Before expanding what a form collects, try a low-sensitivity test enquiry using made-up details. Check the labels, destination and instructions together. Agree with your advisers what further evidence is needed to accept the work; a successful form submission only confirms the part of the route that was tested.

## Local financial services planning questions

A few useful answers before you decide.

### Who decides which details the public form requests?

Your responsible business and data-handling reviewers decide the purpose and minimum information needed. We can help turn that decision into field labels and instructions. Keep unnecessary identity, account and financial records out of the general enquiry route, and show visitors where to continue with controlled client tasks. A marketing form should not quietly become an onboarding system.

### Can the website list individual advisers or practitioners?

Yes, with current, verified information and approval for publication. Supply the approved role descriptions and identify who will maintain them when details change. Profiles should help visitors understand the organisation without inventing qualifications, permissions or availability, or suggesting that a named person will personally handle every enquiry.

### What happens when product wording changes?

Agree who supplies the revision, who approves it and who publishes it. Check the related pages, documents and campaign destinations as well as the main service page, so an old statement is not left elsewhere. Keep the approved source with the revision. Editing access alone does not authorise someone to change a material product claim.

### Can a public site connect to an internal workflow?

It can be considered under a separately assessed technical and information scope. Start with the fields to be transferred, who can access them, the receiving system and what should happen if delivery fails. The proposal should identify the connection being implemented and the professional decisions that remain with your team. Transferring a record does not verify the wider client process.

### How should a proposal describe testing?

Ask for observable checks: whether the agreed wording appears, required fields behave as intended, a test enquiry reaches its destination and permissions match the agreed scope. The proposal should distinguish these checks from a security audit or professional compliance review, then report the evidence and limitations. Testing a website does not establish that every downstream system or business obligation was assessed.

### What should the handover give the content owner?

It should explain how to edit the relevant pages, which changes need approval and where to report a correction. Include who owns the accounts and who maintains specialist wording, so a new content owner can follow the process. Ongoing changes can be supported under an agreed arrangement; the business retains responsibility for the factual and professional meaning of its published content.
